One of the most played rivalries will have its sixth face-off on Sunday (only Cheryl versus Gareth has competed more often). John leads the series 3-2 but Mark won the only time they met in the final, 16-13 in BUMSBowl III back in 1998. John is 1-3 in the BUMSBowl, his victory coming in 1997 over Daz 31-24 while his last appearance in the final was in 2005 when he lost BUMSBowl X to Cheryl 16-15. Mark makes a record setting sixth BUMSBowl appearance where he is currently 2-3 winning in his last visit 22-13 over Daz three years ago, as well as the previously mentioned victory over John seventeen years ago. Mark is now a very impressive 6-2 in the Championship Game while John improved to an even more impressive 5-0. Overall Mark is 28-17 in postseason play while John is 17-18. Road To The Final – Mark (#10 seed) upset Andy H (#7) 19-15 in the wildcard round, then beat Craig (#12) 40-16 in the divisional round and defeated AP (#15) 36-11 in the championship round. John (#16 seed) stunned Wayne (#1) in the wildcard 19-10, then Chief (#3) 30-23 in the divisional and shocked (#8) Cheryl who was also undefeated in the championship round in a 39-16 beat-down. BUMSBowl XX see’s the lowest two seeds in the final ever and it’s only the second time both seeds have come from the lower half of the draw (in 2007 David Stamp (#14) beat Wayne (#9) 20-17. Just two years ago the then number 10 seed (Wayne) won it all but a warning for John, the number 16 seed has never won the BUMSBowl. The biggest outsider to win it was Daz who as the 15th seed beat Mark the 7th seed in 2006. Both owners were quick to get their teams to the Commissioner’s office and they had four players the same so after Mark dropped Ted Ginn and replaced him with Emmanuel Sanders, John then selected rookie Devin Funchess to replace Jonathan Stewart.
